James Harden is arguably one of the best offensive player of this generation. He may not have a career high of 81 points like the late Kobe Bryant or a total career points of 38,387 like Kareem Abdul-Jabaar but his offensive plays are definitely something to look out for.
In the 2018/2019 NBA season, Harden became the only player to ever score 30 points or more in 20 consecutive games. With this, he joined Wilt Chamberlain in the record. This came after a 37-point game by Harden even after sitting out of the entire 4th quarter. The last time he did not score 30 points or more was against the Portland Trail Blazers where he put up 29 points. Harden had scored exactly 200 points in the last four games. This was only achieved 6 times in the last 50 seasons; four times by Kobe and twice by Harden himself. What makes this achievement even more remarkable was that all those points scored by Harden were not assisted by his teammates.
During this run of games with more than 30 points per game, Harden also set some new records for himself. He set a new career high of 61 points against the New York Knicks. This was his 21st game scoring 30 or more points in a game. Apart from that, Harden also scored 50 over points in back-to-back games. He joined Wilt Chamberlain again in this record. Harden scored 57 and 58 points respectively. His streak of scoring 30 points or more per game lasted for 32 games.
With all these numbers, there is no doubt that James Harden is one of the best scorers of all time. He may not have the highest career high points but he is definitely one of the most consistent scorers in the NBA right now. Harden has everything in his offensive arsenal. If you need someone to take a buzzer-beating three, Harden is definitely up for the task. He can attack straight to rim or even stop for the floater. He has really good ball handling skills as well so he is someone you can depend on to dribble the ball up the court. He is one of the most athletic players in the NBA and he is extremely dangerous when has the ball in his hands. Despite being 195 cm tall and almost 100kg, Harden is so fast off the dribble and he could easily blow by his defender. He has literally everything you can ask for from an offensive player.
James Harden is definitely the best offensive player right now in the NBA.
