As everybody knows, the Slingers are always at the top of their game when they’re playing on their home ground. Right of the bat in the first quarter, the Slingers took charge in the game as they started scoring open looks while also playing good defense to limit the Wolf Warriors in scoring. However, the Wolf Warriors came here to give the slingers a tough battle and that’s what they did. Within minutes, they took the lead to end the first quarter.

As the second quarter commenced, it was a back-and-forth game as both teams were trading baskets back to back and at this point, it could be anybody’s game.

As the game was coming to an end, the lethal shooter from the Slingers, Marcus Elliot, seemed to be struggling on the offensive end as he was only able to drop 15 points with 5-for-17 shooting. However, the skillful import player stepped up to the plate during crunch time and hit a dagger trey ball with under a minute left on the clock to play.

The local superstar, Leon Kwek, came in clutch on defense as he was able to get a steal and also converted the points on a lay-up!

For the full 40 minutes, the Slingers’ tight defense limited every Wolf Warriors starter to under 37 percent shooting. Even though the offense was not going well for the Slingers throughout the game, they ensured to play stellar defense to keep the Wolf Warriors from scoring past them.

Not forgetting the reigning World Import MVP Xavier Alexander, he added to his league history leading triple-double (8) with an astounding performance of 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. The big man powerhouse Anthony McClain, also had an impressive performance to contribute to the game as he finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds!
