The highly skilled point guard in the NBA, Kyrie Irving, has decided to take his performance to another level by going vegan!
Being Vegan means being able to only eat and consume foods that are from non-animal sources! Many people get confused with vegetarianism as they feel it is the same.
However, being a vegetarian still allows people to eat eggs and sorts of dairy products.
In this case, Kyrie Irving being vegan does not have protein sources like dairy products, meat, eggs and even yogurt. He fully decided to go vegan which basically means he does not eat anything “animal” related!
Instead, he eats a lot of vegetables, fruits, rice, pasta, almond milk, and even seeds!
Many other NBA players such as Damian Lillard, Enes Kanter, Javale McGee, and Jahlil Okafor feel that this has definitely helped them and other athletes to take their game to new heights by going vegan.
High protein diet
A high protein diet consists of having high and large amounts of protein and lesser carbohydrates, fats, and even starch!
Many athletes who want to cut down on their excess weight and fat percentage tend to go on a high protein intake diet as it eliminates all the excessive fat as lesser carbohydrates and fatty food is being eaten.
This diet consists of eating mainly meat, fish, dairy products, beans and legumes, eggs, and vegetables that are relatively rich in protein like asparagus and a lot of spinach.
For example, arguably the best player in the NBA, Lebron James, eats a high protein diet as he has even mentioned, “No sugars, no dairy, I had no carbs. All I ate was meat, fish, veggies and fruit. That’s it.”
A paleo diet includes only consuming meat, eggs, seeds, nuts, fruits and veggies, along with healthy and clean fats and oils.
However ensure you always avoid processed foods, such as grains and sugar. You can also base your diet on paleo foods which are just allowing you to add in a few modern healthy foods like grass-fed butter and gluten-free grains.
The world-famous NBA player, Steve Nash, is one of the few NBA players that has adopted a paleo diet. This diet gives you the required amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats that you need without excessive amounts that hinder your performance.
